Tour de Rock Route Options

Lower Chewelah Peak Loop

Start: 49 Degrees North’s Lodge
End: 49 Degrees North’s Lodge
Trail Conditions: unpaved dirt road, uneven mountain access roads, and paved road.
Recommended Bike: Mountain bike preferred, cross bike possible

 

Upper Chewelah Peak Loop


Start: 49 Degrees North’s Lodge
Start Elevation 3,970
High Point Elevation: 5,774
End: 49 Degrees North’s Lodge
Trail Conditions: unpaved dirt road and uneven mountain access roads
Recommended Bike: Mountain bike preferred, cross bike possible

 

Rough Ride

Start: Chewelah City Park (southeast side), Chewelah, WA
Start Elevation: 1,667
High Point Elevation: 5,774
End: Chewelah City Park, Chewelah, WA
Leave the City Park on East 3rd Street and Lincoln, travel east on Lincoln Street for .7 miles, turn left on Flower Trail Road, and continue for 10 miles. Turn right onto the road to 49 Degrees North Lodge.  At the top of the hill turn left onto the dirt road (Alpine Road) and following the route described for the Upper Chewelah Peak Loop.
Trail Conditions: First section is on paved roads.  Second section (Upper Chewelah Peak Loop) is unpaved dirt road and uneven mountain access roads. Third section (return to Chewelah) is paved roads.
Recommended Bike: Any type of bike for the Chewelah to 49 Degrees North Section.  Mountain bike is preferred for the Chewelah Peak Loops, but a cross bike is possible.  Some individuals may want to switch bikes at 49 Degrees North prior to doing the Chewelah Peak Loop.
Alternative route: Drive to 49 Degrees North Lodge and park.  Then ride down to Chewelah’s City Park and check-in.  Ride back up to 49 Degrees North and following the Upper Chewelah Peak Loop.  Return to 49 Degrees North’s Lodge, put your bike away, and then head up to the Lodge to purchase a burger, beer or beverage and enjoy the music.
